A recent international prosthodontic study highlighted the growing role of digital dentistry and monolithic dentures in improving denture retention and accuracy. The research, published in the Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics (2026), evaluated the trueness and retention of digitally milled monolithic complete dentures compared to conventional dentures.
The study found that monolithic dentures demonstrated superior retention compared to conventional dentures, particularly in mandibular dentures. Researchers also observed improved adaptation and smoother denture surfaces using advanced CAD-CAM milling technologies.
